The Sound of Type
Music, typography and design are close siblings that interact with true ease. To human perception, the music's cadence, the typographic rhythm, or a moving image simply make sense together, and often result in unique artistic innovation when applied together.
The DJ lays down a foundation that coaxes this intuitive language out of the designer, who then uses swelling shapes, whirling letters, and textural compositions to communicate with their audience. Both work in unison to find a dimension that is immersive to the viewer, and often results in a physical experience of sound, color and type.
Audiotype is a concept for a three day music, type and design festival that propels new media art, typography and electronic music into public's attention. It also allows a platform for experimentation through a series of workshop where the audience can test the boundaries of their creativity, or play and explore the newest digital tools.
The brand identity needed to be possess elements of dynamic type, gripping image and colorful shape. It was inspired by digital graphics, distortion, agitation of shape and movement, yet be stable enough to communicate information clearly.
